Most patients can resume normal activities within a few days after cataract surgery. Complete healing typically takes 4-6 weeks, but vision improvement is usually noticeable within 24-48 hours.

LASIK surgery is generally not painful. Local anesthesia is used, and most patients experience only mild discomfort during the procedure. Some may feel slight pressure or burning sensation for a few hours after surgery.

Adults should have a comprehensive eye examination every 1-2 years, or more frequently if you have existing eye conditions, diabetes, or a family history of eye diseases. Children should have regular eye exams as recommended by their pediatrician.

Glaucoma often has no early symptoms, which is why it's called the "silent thief of sight." In advanced stages, symptoms may include gradual loss of peripheral vision, tunnel vision, eye pain, nausea, and blurred vision.
